A Ukrainian Christmas-Eve ritual scene, one of the works singled out by the Encyclopedia of Modern Ukraine as representative of Nakonechnyi's calendar-rite cycle. It shows the shchedrivka carolling tradition of the Podillian village rendered in his folk-inflected oil technique.
